Who this is for
Owners of a house with a garden, a paddock, a small wood or a few acres. You want to know what your land used to be, who worked it, and what the old records say about it. Everything here works for a home: you don't need to be a farm business.
How it starts
Apply with your address and what you'd like to know. We take on a small number of homes at a time, so we'll tell you if we can do yours. If we can, we'll agree the boundary of your plot with you on a map, research its history, and invite you to your own private page.
What you get
- Your land's history — Old maps, owners and tenants, field and place names, and past events, each with the source it came from.
- A map of your plot — Your boundary on a map, alongside the records behind your history.
- A report to keep — Your history as a report you can print.
It stays yours to check
The first version is a draft, prepared for you and private to you and the team that prepared it. Read it, tell us what we got wrong, and then accept it or remove it. You know your land, and a reply from you is often the best source it will have.
This is a history of your land, drawn from old maps and records. It isn't a property search or legal advice, so please don't rely on it when buying or selling a home or settling a boundary.
